Turkey is not only sun
drenched beaches, spectacular mosques and tasty kebabs! It can also
lay claim to one of the most thrilling whitewater adventures that
you will ever embark on. In the timeless far North the Coruh River
runs it's course, offering not only endless rapids set amongst
breathtaking gorges but also access to scores of villages with some
of the most hospitable people you will ever meet. The guides rave
about this trip not just because of the thrills that the river
offers but also because of the sunny weather, healthy mountain air
and fresh food available along the way. All this adds up to provide
a very enjoyable river trip experience!
This
is an area mostly unexplored by conventional tourists. At high water
some of the rapids go on for miles! At low water you will actually
have a chance to look around and take in the magnificent
surroundings! The food is fantastic, from fresh olives and
pistachi"o
nuts to feta cheese. It is a gourmet feast. You actually float by
ruins of Byzantine castles - history and adventure in one trip! At
the end you will really, really enjoy your Turkish Bath experience.

Day
1- Erzurum - Ispir ( L – D )
Arrive
Erzurum airport on midday flight. Lunch in Erzurum. Transfer
by minibus to Yedigoze, 10 km downstream from Ispir. Chance to
explore the town in late afternoon / evening.
Day
2- Camlikaya ( B – L - D )
Training
Day. Rafting grade 3 including 'White Horses'. Camp in orchard
at Camlikaya.
Day
3- Tekkale(
B – L - D)
On
our left mountains rise to 2000m peaks, on our right are tiny
terraced paddy fields, and ruined castles clinging to
riverside rock pinnacles. After tackling rapids such as
'Frog's Piss' and 'The French Hole' we arrive at Tekkale
village, also known in Turkish as 'Four Churches'. In June
this village of cherry orchards is laden with fruit. (550m)
Day
4- Yusufeli - Erzurum ( B – L )
Rafting
grade 5- morning rafting in the Yusufeli Gorge where we tackle
the most excited rapids of the tour, including "King
Kong". Huge boulders the size of houses forces the water
into steep chutes and churning holes that seem bigger than the
raft. Transfer to Erzurum for afternoon internal flight.
